Tory Lanez Jailed for 10 Years over Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

Tory Lanez gets 10 years for shooting ‘Megan Thee Stallion’ in 2020.

Rapper Tory Lanez from Canada was given a prison sentence more than seven months after the incident. Judge David Herriford handed down the 30-year-old rapper’s penalty after a hearing that was rescheduled in Los Angeles Superior Court because of delays.

On December 23, a jury found Tory Lanez, actual name Daystar Peterson, guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, possession of a loaded firearm inside a moving vehicle without a licence, and careless firearm discharge.

Lanez was accused of shooting Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion, 28, in the foot after a pool party in the Hollywood Hills in July 2020.

She stated throughout her testimony in court during the course of the two-week trial that an argument between the two that erupted when they began to disparage one another’s musical careers was the cause of the shooting.

Megan Thee Stallion, a.k.a. Megan Pete, underwent surgery, stayed in the hospital for four days, and then, with the aid of physical therapy, was able to regain her ability to walk.

She gave a statement that was read in court, but she opted not to show up for the sentencing hearing because, according to her, being around Lanez would make her sick.
